Keir Starmer has denied there is tension between Scottish Labour and the party south of the border despite disagreements over key policies

But Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar then said his party disagreed with the policy - and claimed he would "press" a UK Labour Government to drop it. Scottish Labour also previously backed plans – which were ultimately blocked by the UK Government – for Scotland to move to a system of self-identification for transgender people, removing the need for a medical diagnosis of gender dysphoria.The UK Labour leader today tried to play down any claims of a split between the two parties.
Starmer also responded to comments from Humza Yousaf last week that a minority Labour government would be “the best outcome for Scotland”.
