Former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz join Lorraine to give viewers a glimpse into their rural life, including the joys and challenges of lambing season.
Kelvin Fletcher , former Emmerdale star, and his wife Liz appeared on ITV's Lorraine on Thursday, February 13th, to showcase the lambing process at their Cheshire family farm. Fletcher has transitioned from acting to farming in the Peak District alongside Liz and their four children. Farming life, however, presents its own challenges.
In a pre-recorded video from the farm, Liz admitted that she and Kelvin frequently argued while herding sheep, describing the process as stressful due to the animals' disobedience. Kelvin took the reins on the quad bike to round up the sheep as Liz explained, 'You'll always have an argument when herding sheep, we're told you're not real farmers if you don't.' She also revealed that her husband would often tease her about her driving skills if she were to operate the four-wheeled vehicle. Despite initial anxieties, the process seemed to unfold smoothly as they guided the sheep into an enclosure for weighing. Those exceeding their weight expectations would advance to the next stage. During a live segment from their farm, they gathered their woolly animals suspected of being pregnant. Kelvin explained to Scottish host Lorraine that the ideal scenario would be sheep carrying twins as it presented less risk. The couple hoped most of their animals would deliver at least two lambs for an easier farm life. Fletcher elaborated that sheep carrying twin lambs would be sprayed with blue, those with single babies in green, and those with triplets in red 'for danger' due to the higher risk involved. Liz remarked to viewers, 'It's the most nail-biting scan of our lives,' as they prepared for their first sheep to undergo an ultrasound live on air. The couple was ecstatic to discover that their first animal was expecting twins, joyfully cheering, 'Yes, twins!' The excitement didn't last long as the second sheep stepped up, revealing it was carrying only one baby. Lorraine reassured them, 'That's alright though, it's better than triplets.'
