A look at what Manchester City have - and haven't - been up to in the transfer window as we approach the end of June
Ederson, Bernardo Silva, and Kevin De Bruyne all have interest from other clubs and have not ruled out a departure but none have an offer for Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano to consider. Silva and De Bruyne are both also at the European Championship with their respective countries, where they are unlikely to want distractions from the national team.
Little progress has been made with finding clubs for Kalvin Phillips and Joao Cancelo, two players who won't be part of City's plans for the season. If they haven't found a new solution by then, they can expect to join up with City's pre-season plans that includes a tour.ALSO READ: Man City ranked for financial sustainability in new league table
Incomings remain painfully quiet as well. Even Savio, who plays for a City Football Group club and is expected to be put through his paces on City's tour in July, has not completed a deal. Most of City's buying will end up being reactions to players leaving; unless De Bruyne or Silva complete a move away, it is unlikely that the club would move for a player that they like such as Bruno Guimaraes with his £100m valuation from Newcastle. If there isn't much selling, there isn't going to be much buying.
City will need to bolster the squad though - especially with more games coming next season - and cover for Rodri is essential if they are to challenge again on multiple fronts. The club have shown before that they are willing to be patient to land their targets, and will head into July with work to do.
