The US owners of Network 10 have swung the axe at the commercial broadcaster, making redundancies across marketing, streaming and operations as it tries to simplify the business.
US entertainment giant Paramount, which has made repeated assurances it has no plans to sell Network 10, has made at least three executive positions redundant this week, while promoting its co-vice presidents Jarrod Villani and Beverley McGarvey to senior roles within the global company.
Media sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the positions axed include Paramount’s vice president of operations, Frank Filosi, vice president of streaming, Liz Baldwin, and Network 10’s vice president of marketing, Jean Jenkins. Other sources said about eight positions are affected as part of the changes, including a role in sales.
“Regional expertise and local execution remains important, and we must have the right leadership team in place to drive our business forward,” Kaufman said. “All our organisational changes are rooted in a strong, deliberate strategy that we all believe will move us forward in our next chapter.” A local Paramount spokeswoman said the company was reshaping its workforce and redundancies were being made as part of the changes.“As a result of these changes, which are also strongly focused on the rapidly evolving media and entertainment market, some people will depart the business,” she said. “To those colleagues, we would like to express our sincere thanks for their hard work, dedication, leadership and professionalism during their tenure. They will be fully supported during this period.
