Paramount, Ten’s US parent company, has axed its Australian head of streaming in a shake-up of international markets.
Paramount, the US parent of Network Ten, is shaking up its Australian streaming division, letting go its streaming chief, Liz Baldwin, and making at least four others redundant as part of a global restructure.
Ms Baldwin, who was senior vice president and head of streaming at Paramount ANZ, will be farewelled along with a team of digital and streaming employees at a Sydney pub in Pyrmont by staff on Thursday. Ms Baldwin’s departure signals the start of a strategic shift within Paramount. Globally, Paramount is divided into a US domestic team and an international team, led by Pamela Kaufman.Australia, for example, has been part of a “cluster” with the UK, Israel and Canada.
Ms McGarvey has become head of Paramount+ in Australia, while Mr Villani will be Australia’s regional lead and report into Paramount’s international markets council.Paramount chief executive Bob Bakish has previously said he wants Paramount to take a more global approach to broadcast content.
She oversaw the technology that underpinned the streaming platform, while others managed sales and content.
