A woman and baby have been taken to a hospital in Houston after she gave birth in a parking lot and abandoned the newborn by a clothing donation box, according to KHOU-TV . Witnesses at a parking lot near Hobby Airport reportedly saw a woman take off her pants and give birth around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, KHOU reported. She then left the baby and walked off.

About a block from the scene, the officer tracked down a 28-year-old woman believed to be the mother. Both she and the baby were taken to the hospital and the Department of Family and Protective Services was notified, according to KHOU.
