Queen Camilla and King Charles were given the animals as a gift, but one of them appeared to have taken a liking to another cow in front of the Royal couple.
The King and Queen were left chuckling heartily after witnessing a pair of "frisky" female cows during their visit to Jersey on Monday.
Originally, a herd of seven milking heifers was chosen as a Platinum Jubilee gift for Queen Elizabeth in 2022 by the Jersey Milk Marketing Board and the Royal Jersey Agricultural and Horticultural Society. Upon learning about the calamity and the local milk co-operative's efforts to rebuild the herd, King Charles decided to return the gifted heifers to aid in the restocking initiative. With the island's cattle numbers now restored, a new set of heifers is being presented back to the King.
His Majesty appeared in high spirits as he was introduced to the bovine group Isis, Jordanne, Duchess, Oakley, Jemini, Blandish and Christell, although which of the cows became a touch too excited in the presence of the royals remains unclear. A Royal insider reported: "There was a small issue of concern, an investigation turned out to be a false alarm, every precaution was taken and the programme resumed shortly afterwards."
Royals latest news Subsequently, the King and Queen Consort were hurried to the safety of the Pomme D'or hotel before they continued with their planned engagements without further incident.
