A 60-minute experience allows gets to get up close and personal with the bears that inspired Paddington
Knowsley Safari is allowing guests to get up close and personal with its Andean bears. The new experience stems from the Paddington movie from which the fictional character is inspired. Male Chui and female Bahia arrived at Knowsley ’s Foot Safari's Bear Country earlier this year. The new experience lets guests prepare some of their favourite foods, such as chopped vegetables, porridge balls or bamboo sticks filled with honey and peanut butter, as well as coconuts.
Knowsley Safari is working in partnership with Peru-based Spectacled Bear Conservation Society , which helps protect the species from habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict, including poaching. Nicola Watson, learning and development and research and conservation operations manager at Knowsley Safari, said: “Our brand-new bear experiences give visitors exclusive access to keeper areas which are usually out of bounds to the public.
