BREAKING: France superstar Kylian Mbappe vowed ‘we’ll be back’ after his side’s World Cup final defeat to Argentina.
The 23-year-old was on the losing side despite becoming just the second player in history to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final.
Mbappe scored twice in 90 seconds to take the game to extra-time and he added a third from the penalty spot to take the game to a shootout. The Paris Saint-Germain star did his bit by scoring in the shootout but Emi Martinez was the hero for Argentina, saving two France efforts. Mbappe was aiming to become the first player since Pele to win back-to-back World Cups, having inspired France to victory in Russia four years ago.Nevertheless, with eight goals in Qatar, Mbappe is already a bona fide World Cup legend and he’s vowed to come back stronger in 2026.The forward won the golden boot award in Qatar for his eight goals, which Messi pushed close with seven.
He was also named in the team of the tournament and Mbappe can console himself with the fact that he could feasibly feature in another three tournaments in his career.
