Plans to make safety improvements at a tourist attraction in the Lake District have been given the go-ahead.
The Lake District National Park Authority has approved plans to extend the zip wire platform and install new beams to the existing tower at Treetop Trek high ropes course at Brockhole, the Lake District Visitor Centre. Proposals also include repairing the timber framed landing area and applying impact cushioning rubber coating for safety reasons, as well as the re-siting of anchors.A cover letter submitted on behalf of the applicant states: “The proposed works are minor and will be largely undertaken to the existing zip line tower, which is a piece of existing infrastructure approved on site.
