Mark Somerville, form Uddingston in South Lanarkshire, has been praised by Prime Minister Keir Starmer for his 'bravery and compassion' after battling a MND diagnosis.
A Lanarkshire dad who has motor neurone disease has been praised for his "bravery and compassion" by Prime Minister Keir Starmer in a tribute during PMQs on Wednesday afternoon.
The 43-year-old made a video plea after being handed the "life sentence". He has since set up the Mark Somerville Foundation to help those with MND and their loved ones, reports The Record. "Since then he has set up the Mark Somerville Foundation and is doing incredible work to raise awareness of the condition. Mark is in the gallery today and will speak to MPs later about living with MND.
Starmer replied: "I thank my honourable friend for raising this case. He mentioned it to me last night. And I do pay tribute to Mark who is in the gallery and the work of his foundation. This diagnosis can so obviously be devastating.
