There are calls for all shops to close on Boxing Day in order to give staff members an extra day off – do you think this is a good idea?
Discount retailer Home Bargains was praised earlier this year after announcing its stores would close for three days over the Christmas period. All branches will close on Christmas Day , Boxing Day , and New Year's Day to allow staff to enjoy the festivities with their loved ones. It is thought Home Bargains will also close stores early on Christmas Eve , as in previous years.
I'm pretty sure the owners of these big stores won't be working and will be spending it with their families.” Karan Tett said: “Personally think they should be shut from Xmas Eve until after New Year. Give people time with their families. I am sure no one will starve.” But others thought it might be better for shops to stay open.
