Lancashire's latest Covid rates as Government prepares to offer more booster vaccines
Lancashire's Covid situation looks more positive than previous weeks with just nine areas now recording case rates of more than 100 per 100,000 people.
According to the most recent figures, which cover the week ending April 8, South Promenade & Seasiders Way in Blackpool was the area with the highest rates at 118 cases per 100,000 people. That's well under half of last week's highest rate Meanwhile, people aged 75 and over are being urged to book a slot for a fresh coronavirus booster jab, with appointments available in England from Monday.
Some care homes have already been visited by vaccination teams, but the rollout of jabs begins in full next week. Many people will already have received an invitation through the NHS app, where they can also book their appointment.
