The Met Office issues a yellow weather warning for rain and strong winds for coastal Lancashire on Sunday. The warning is in effect from 8 am to 3 pm, with gusts potentially reaching 70 mph in exposed areas.

Lancashire residents are bracing for more stormy weather after Storm Eowyn hit the county on Friday, January 24. While Saturday brings a respite from the worst of the conditions, Sunday will see the arrival of heavy rainfall and strong winds. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain, covering coastal areas such as Fleetwood , Blackpool , and Southport from 8 am to 3 pm on Sunday, January 26.

The warning predicts that strong south to southeasterly winds, potentially gusting up to 70 mph in exposed coastal and hilly areas, will accompany the heavy rain. The Met Office states: 'A further period of strong south to southeasterly winds accompanied by some heavy rain is expected to move into the southwest on Sunday morning, then spread to other southern and western areas through the day. Winds are likely to gust 50 to 60 mph quite widely, and around some exposed coasts and hills gusts to 70 mph are possible.'The North West outlook from the Met Office for Sunday to Tuesday indicates a bright start on Sunday, followed by increasing windiness and the arrival of rain and hill snow later in the day. Monday and Tuesday are expected to be changeable and showery, with windy conditions at times. Temperatures are forecast to be close to average. While warnings are also in place for Monday, they will primarily affect southern England
