The street is directly next-door to where the festival is taking place this weekend
Sefton Park will host 'the UK's largest celebration of African music and culture' with Africa Oyé taking place this weekend.
'Oyé brings a lot of character, culture, diversity, difference to what we usually get ... it's what Liverpool's known for, acceptance and diversity' Love & Rockets is fully embracing the African culture that the festival brings with owner Owen telling us the special offers the bar has in store for customers this weekend. He said: "We've got all African inspired cocktails, we've got food on and we've got a bar to set up outside the front.
"Especially with Lark Lane because it's more like smaller businesses. It's putting money in the right pockets than the corporate pockets." Joe also admits that Oyé will "definitely help" business following a dip during the pandemic and cost-of-living crisis. The festival is not just expected to bring a boost in business but also a boost in the city's morale.
Isaac said during the pandemic he got sacked from his old job and how "a lot of people did struggle but The Lane's getting back to what it used to be slowly but surely." Outdoor seating has recently been installed across all of Lark Lane and in turn footfall on the street has significantly increased.
When asked if that was when Lark Lane was at its peak, Anthony said: "Lark Lane is at it's best now. Since coming out of Covid people are just prepared to spend a little bit more now and enjoy themselves."
