Leeds United are prioritizing the signing of a new striker before the transfer window closes tonight. Despite a 7-0 win against Cardiff City, the club is looking to bolster its attacking options. They had a loan bid for Southampton's Cameron Archer rejected last week, and the 23-year-old forward is attracting interest from other clubs.
Bringing in a new striker is thought to be at the top of Leeds United's agenda before the transfer window closes at 11pm tonight.
Archer, who joined Southampton in the summer in a £15million move from Aston Villa, has made 25 appearances for the Saints across all competitions this season, scoring five times. The former England Under-21 international is said to be open to leaving St Mary's, having struggled for regular game time under boss Ivan Juric. It is believed a groin injury kept Archer out of Saturday's 2-1 win at Ipswich Town.
Nigerian forward Udoh has played 28 times for the Belgian Pro League outfit but has yet to find the net. He has only featured for Antwerp's Under-23s in the third division since December. Reports in the south coast say Udoh is viewed initially as an academy signing. Get Leeds United news to your phone with our WhatsApp community Want the inside track on transfers?
