Leeds United striker Sonny Perkins, in the final year of his contract, has been a key player for Leyton Orient on loan this season. Orient manager Richie Wellens has confirmed the club's desire to sign Perkins permanently, with negotiations underway. Perkins, who began his career at West Ham United, has made a limited number of appearances for Leeds but has impressed during his loan spell, contributing significantly to Orient's bid for a top-six finish.

Sonny Perkins is among the players in the final year of his Leeds United contract. The striker has enhanced his reputation on loan at Leyton Orient this season.

As reported by the Newham Recorder, Wellens said: “We are negotiating with a centre forward and a midfielder playing in the number 10 role. We also want to sign Sonny Perkins on a permanent basis." Perkins, who kicked off his career at West Ham United, has made four senior appearances in United colours. His only goal came in an FA Cup tie against Cardiff City over two years ago.

As well as Perkins, United also have Sam Byram, Junior Firpo and Josuha Guilavogui who are due to become free agents this summer. Loan players Joe Rothwell and Manor Solomon are also due to return to their parent clubs Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur respectively following the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign.
