The 35-year-old has put pen to paper on a 12-month extension on a day when five players were confirmed as leaving the club.
Leon Balogun has extended his Rangers stay on the day when five of his team-mates headed for the Ibrox exit door.
Rangers announced that five players are leaving following the expiration of their contracts: John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, Kemar Roofe, Borna Barisic and Jon McLaughlin. But the club confirmed Balogun's extension and the Nigeria international said: "I am very, very happy and privileged to be able to extend my contract at a club like Rangers. I have said in the past I wish I could've been here sooner in my career because it fuels the fire to succeed all the time.
Boss Philippe Clement said: "I am delighted Leon has signed a contract extension with the club to remain as a crucial part of our squad next season. In my time here so far, I have witnessed first-hand the impact he has not only on the pitch but off the pitch too with his valuable experience. He is a talented defender, who brings a lot of qualities to the group, and I look forward to continuing to work with him next season.
