The chain is also donating to a bee charity and selling bee-friendly drinks and plants
To celebrate World Bee Day, Lidl has launched ‘Lidl Bee-rs’ in six-packs, with each bottle containing inverted sugar syrup specifically designed to revive sleepy and fading wild bees and pollinators in need of a pick me up. The first-of-its-kind six pack aims to help people to help bees when they see one in need of a cooling ‘brewski’ on the go.
To support the efforts of The British Bee Charity, Lidl is also donating £10,000 to educate children in schools and help the next generation understand the importance of protecting pollinators. One of the best things you can do to support wild bees and other pollinators is to plant bee-friendly flowers in your garden or plant pots at home. Nectar-rich blooms like lavender, sunflowers, and wildflowers are great to provide lots of food and shelter.
