Lidl to charge 38p per plastic bag in Wales as it AXES 9p carriers
The supermarket says that shoppers are using the 9p plastic bags as single-use ones and that five million of them are sold every year11:15 am
The supermarket is running a trial across all Welsh branches that will see the 9p plastic bags for life scrapped altogether.The bargain storebut says that shoppers are replacing them with the 9p holders as single-use ones. The move is part of the store's pledge to reduce plastic packaging by 20 per cent by 2022 and to making sure all of its own-brand packaging is recyclable, reusable, refillable or renewable by 2025.
