Residents describe it as a 'happy place' but there are serious underlying problems
The Bastwell area of Blackburn is home to some of the steepest streets in Lancashire - and another more distinctive feature.

That statistic only tells half the story though as this was the local authority area with more cases per person than anywhere else in the country.

It’s suicide not taking Covid seriously," he said: “And suicide is haram in our religion. It is not allowed.” Around 85% of the population described their ethnicity as Indian, while 87% identified as being Muslim. The Masjid-al-Momineen provides a place of worship for that majority figure and could soon expand.
