Neighbours of John Laveric told the ECHO how his anti-social behaviour affected them
A community was tormented 'day and night' for years by the near-continuous barking of a man's mastiff dogs. Neighbours in Eric Street and Pit Lane in Widnes felt 'ground down' by John Laveric's anti-social behaviour and his inability to stop his dogs from barking - even when ordered to do so by a court. On August 16, Laveric, 48, appeared before Liverpool Crown Court , where impact statements from 11 of his neighbours were read out.
The man said the impact of the noise on his family had been 'pretty horrendous'. He added: 'every time we went in the garden, we had to come back in and lock the doors to get away from it. It was day and night. It might be 1.30 in the morning and they'd kick off. It woke us up in the night. They'd start up - it was just something they did. And he would never quieten them, never try to stop them. In our case I could say he's been a neighbour from hell.
