Patients have raised concerns about the lack of a reasonable drop-off point in the new layout for the Accident and Emergency department at Lincoln County Hospital.
The new ambulance bay is fenced off from public access and Nikki said her dad was forced to walk a considerable distance to reach the A&E entrance."The omission of a drop-off point at an Accident and Emergency department seems madness. In response, Michelle Harris, Chief Operating Officer at ULHT, explained that the new ambulance bay was designed to allow ambulances to safely access and depart the emergency department, but in order to do so, this could not be accessible to the public.
“Our car park opposite the UTC also includes disabled parking to the left and general parking to the right, within a very short distance of the emergency department."
