Going green with Lincolnshire's top parks - which one is your favourite? 💚 🌳
A total of 13 of Greater Lincolnshire’s parks have been given prestigious Green Flag awards for 2023/24.
In Lincoln, there were once again three parks recognised with Green Flag awards, as the Arboretum, Hartsholme Country Park and Boultham Park again listed amongst the finest green spaces in the United Kingdom. Just 135 of over 2,200 Green Flag winners were also given Green Heritage Site tags, underlining just how important areas like Boultham and Wyndham Park are to the local community and surrounding environment.
Cllr Paul Stokes, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Culture at South Kesteven District Council said: “We recognise the importance of providing green spaces that residents and visitors can enjoy so it is a true honour to once again receive Green Flag status and be recognised as among the best in the country.
It was to be business as usual for regular winners Central Park, Sheffield Park, Kingsway Gardens and Woodlands Memorial Park in Scunthorpe – as well as Baysgarth Park in Barton upon Humber. The park, which opened in April 2022 includes colourful rainbow designs and a memorial tree, all designed to improve the mental wellbeing of bereaved members of the community.
