Jesse Lingard responded to a fan on Twitter who accused him, Paul Pogba, and Marcus Rashford of destroying Manchester United's culture. Lingard questioned the claim and defended his and his teammates' enjoyment of playing for the club.
And on Wednesday afternoon, Lingard brought up his time at United again, when one fan accused the formerThe tweet, posted in December last year, read: "Him, Pogba and Rashford destroyed the culture even Rooney admitted. He was let have his own culture with those other 2 vultures after Sir Alex left.", formerly Twitter, to respond to the supporter, who was replying to a video of Lingard scoring against Newcastle in 2016.
Another fan replied to Lingard's comment, saying: "You made us play well which some dumb b****** that “support” this club don’t like because you dance and have fun..." The midfielder responded by writing: "Lool we was just enjoying our life of we played for biggest club in the world of course we made mistakes and we learn but we gonna have fun and smile and dance."Back in late 2022, Lingard admitted that he left United because of too many broken promises surrounding time spent on the pitch.
“It was game time," he said when asked for the main reason behind his departure. "It's always going to be difficult playing at United but the lack of game time was the main thing. I just wanted to play football and that was the main aim. There was no point in staying there if I wasn't going to play."Featured Image Credit: Getty Images
