Fire crews are on the scene, damping down the vehicle
Traffic is being held on a stretch of the M62 as emergency services tackle a car fire this afternoon .
All traffic has been temporarily stopped on the eastbound carriageway of the motorway between junctions 22 and 23 near Huddersfield. The incident has prompted delays of around 30 minutes, with some lanes expected to start opening again soon. which is on the hard shoulder, according to National Highways. In a post on social media, the organisation said that the fire service is expected to allow traffic through on some lanes past the scene soon.In the post on X, National Highways: Yorkshire said: "Traffic is held on the #M62 eastbound between J22 and J23 near #Huddersfield."There are 30 minute delays at present but we expect the Fire service to allow lanes past scene soon."Traffic appears to have returned to normal now.
