LIVE: Nurses on strike in Greater Manchester for the first time in union's 106-year history over pay row

More than 4,000 ambulance patients forced to wait over an HOUR outside Greater Manchester A&Es

There were not enough votes in every hospital trust in Greater Manchester to meet the threshold needed for a strike to go ahead. The trusts which did see enough votes include Tameside and Glossop, The Christie and Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS trusts. Pickets will be outside Tameside Hospital, The Christie Hospital and Wigan Infirmary from 7am to 7pm today. The NHS is asking patients to seek urgent care if they need it during industrial action this week and continue to attend appointments as planned unless contacted to rearrange.
