The display team is scheduled to fly over Bolton and Wigan from noon ahead of the Southport Airshow
People in Greater Manchester were today craning their necks skywards for a second chance to see the famous Red Arrows in 24 hours.
Yesterday afternoon the display team, officially The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, flew their distinctive Hawk fast-jetsas they made their way from their base at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire to Blackpool Airport. The journey took around half an hour as they flew over Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire before moving up through the Peak District. They then passed through Glossop, parts of Oldham and Rochdale.The distinctive red Hawk trainer jets then flew over Heywood, central Bury, northern Bolton and Horwich before reaching Burscough inBut for those who missed out yesterday, there will be a second chance to glimpse them.
Today the Red Arrows are based at Blackpool Airport for the nearby Southport Air Show, and the pilots are due to take to the skies there at 12pm - although this is subject to weather conditions.The North West's largest airshow, the two-day event in Southport will also see displays from the likes of the Typhoon, the Chinook and the Strikemaster Display Team.
