Liverpool City Council announces changes to bin collection schedules for the Christmas and New Year period. All collections will be delayed by one to three days, with additional Saturdays worked to ensure timely waste collection.
Bin collections are to change across Liverpool with revised services taking place over the Christmas and New Year period. As one of the busiest periods of the year for waste collection approaches, the city council has announced a raft of amendments to its usual door step schedule. Changes will take place from Christmas Day, with normal service resuming on Monday, January 13. Stickers have already been placed on bins around the city to make people aware of the changes.
The alterations mean that all collections will be moved back by between one and three days. Crews will be working on three Saturdays in the post-Christmas period to ensure that all waste is collected at the earliest possible opportunity. The city council is also encouraging all residents to ensure they recycle over the Christmas break by placing dry recyclables in their blue bin. This includes plastic bottles, glass jars and bottles, paper, and crushed cardboard. Food waste should not be thrown into the blue bin and bottles or jars should be rinsed before being binned.
