The inside track on the football stories that matter
Liverpool fans on social media are tearing into Ibrahima Konate after his performance in the pre-season clash v Man United.
Fabio Carvalho continued his impressive pre-season form, while Curtis Jones and Konstantinos Tsimikas also found the net despite having half the number of shots than their opponents. One major contributor to that sloppiness was Konate, as his loose passing from the defence saw United handed several chances to score early in the game.Konate spent the beginning of the summer representing France at Euro 2024 and last night’s clash was his first appearance under the new boss. The French defender usually plays on the right side of a centre-back pairing, but was shifted to the left in Slot’s system and immediately looked out of place.
