A former senior Morrison government minister has been embroiled in an alleged plot to funnel money to his campaign in return for assistance in winning lucrative contracts.
The Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit published a bombshell five-page affidavit from Anthony Daley, the former partner of the then-director of Synergy 360 Kham Xaysavanh, alleging the company amended its ownership structure to pay the then-government services minister.
“Ultimately, this arrangement was designed to facilitate the flow of funds through United Marketing and onward to Stuart Robert,” the submission read. “Stuart Robert's political influence and connections within the government sector were deemed crucial in ensuring favourable outcomes.” “Mr Daley’s submission with zero evidence and wild accusations is rejected in its entirety, is simply not believable and is outrageous.”Following the review, the JCPAA established an inquiry to further examine the findings and Services Australia’s procurement processes which were subject to extensive reporting by the Nine Newspapers.
“The Committee has reached no conclusions at this stage and invites anyone with information to provide evidence to the Committee. Further public and in camera hearings are expected to be held in late July and August.”
