Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union working on the Tube and rail services are taking industrial action over below-inflation pay rises. Currently, a partial service is running on the Northern, District and Central lines, mainly serving stations in the outer boroughs.Although the strike was planned, some people have been taken by surprise by it and arrived at Tube stations hoping to travel. Christine Peters, who is visiting London from Australia said the strike was "frustrating". "As tourists we can't really go anywhere other than where we can walk to.Many commuters who turned to their cars endured long delays.
A walk from the British Library to Euston station - some trains running here - a few passengers trying their luck. Roads & buses seem ok - people heeding the advice & not travelling ?
