He questioned the voting process on social media after several ITV shows and presenters, including Kate Garraway, Ant & Dec, and The Chase, took home major awards.
Lord Sugar didn't hold back his thoughts on the winners of the 2024 National Television Awards , suggesting a potential bias towards ITV stars. The business mogul and face of The Apprentice, aged 77, took to social media to express his scepticism after ITV personalities, including Kate Garraway and the dynamic duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly , scooped up major awards at the event held at London's O2 arena.
Lord Sugar's tweets were sharp and direct as he questioned the legitimacy of the voting process: "Kate Garraway it is truly a very sad story. ANOTHER ITV award to one of their employees." He also cast doubt on the victory of ITV's 'The Chase', which won the Best Daytime Award, asking, "The Chase another ITV show. Who counts the votes? coincidence!" Not stopping there, Lord Sugar highlighted his own show's success outside of the NTAs: "Actually for the record the Apprentice has won every other TV award except NTA.
