Applications for LoveIsland2020 are OPEN! 🙌🏻

Love Island may have only finished earlier this week but bosses are already on the hunt for the stars of the next series. With just five months to go until Caroline Flack heads to South Africa to film the show, ITV bosses are already accepting applications for the show.

“The chosen cast will spend time in a luxury villa, getting to know one another, but to remain in paradise they must win the hearts of the public and their fellow Islanders who ultimately decide their fate on Love Island.” Despite a whopping 98,000 people applying to star on the most recent series of the show — which saw Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea win £50,000 on Monday — only six of the 36 islanders applied via the advertised process.

Of the original line-up, only Amy Hart, 26, Michael Griffiths, 27, and Joe Garratt, 22, submitted application forms.Another six of the show’s cast were placed by showbiz agents while the remaining 24 were cast by programme producers. The number was confirmed by ITV’s chief executive Dame Carolyn McCall as she gave evidence at the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee’s inquiry into reality TV.“They take the 98,000 down to about 90 or 100 then go through medical medical and psychological questionnaires plus assessments. The number then falls to 30 or 40, who get selected to appear.”
