Former Love Island star Malin Andersson has opened up about being in a 'dark place' after her time on the ITV2 show, as she offers a warning to those hoping to appear on the series
Malin Andersson has shared some advice for those hoping to appear on any upcoming series of Love Island . The TV star, who appeared on the show back in 2016, has revealed that she was in a rather 'dark place' after her time in the villa.
Speaking to the MailOnline, she said: "Coming from a reality TV background - who I was when I came out of Love Island, it's a very dark place to be. And that happens with a lot of these shows. Since appearing on Love Island Malin has faced many challenging moments in her personal life, including the tragic loss of her one month old daughter, Consy, in 2018. Little Consy passed away shortly after Malin's mum, also named Consy-Gloria, died from cancer.
She told the publication: "I don't drink every day. I don't wake up and want to drink. Sometimes I can go two months without it. But I was using alcohol and drugs as a coping mechanism."
