Marks & Spencer has a plan to say goodbye to 110 stores for good as part of its continuous effort to reshape its business. The chain, popular for selling groceries, had earlier shared plans to close permanent 110 shops but didn't give details about their exact locations.
As of October 2022, the plans include shrinking its "full line" stores from the existing 247 to just 180 by 2028 while introducing an additional 104 Simply Food outlets. This move suggests we could see M&S's Simply Food sites increase from 316 to 420, reports the Mirror.M&S disclosed they're pumping £480 million into a "store rotation programme", projecting a job creation of around 3,400.
