A section of the M60 motorway in Greater Manchester is closed following a collision. Traffic is diverted via a series of local roads.
A stretch of the M60 has been shut tonight (Friday, January 3) after a crash. The clockwise carriageway is closed to traffic between junction 22 at Hollinwood, Oldham, and junction 23 at Ashton-under-Lyne. A diversion route has been put in place by traffic officers - with the closure first reported at around 8.30pm. A National Highways spokesperson said: 'The M60 in Greater Manchester is closed clockwise between J22 near (Oldham) and J23 near (Ashton-Under-Lyne) due to a collision.
Police are on scene. National Highways Traffic Officers are also in attendance to assist with traffic management.'A diversion has been put in place to allow motorists to rejoin the M60 past the site of the crash.At M60 J22/A62 Junction, turn left onto A62 northbound and follow for 2.7 km.At A627 King Street roundabout, join A627 southbound and follow for 5.5 km.At A6043/A6410 roundabout, join the A6140 westbound and follow for 2.5 km.Police working at the scene National Highways said: 'Police are on scene. National Highways Traffic Officers are also in attendance to assist with traffic management.
