Main Preston road closed causing rush hour chaos as motorcyclist injured in crash
A main Preston road has been blocked off during the evening rush hour after a car and motorbike crashed.
Police officers closed one side of Ribbleside Avenue in Preston while they deal with the aftermath of a crash which left the rider injured and the bike badly damaged. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Pictures taken at the scene show the bike lay on the floor with pieces broken off around it. Meanwhile, the car also appears to be dented on the passenger side.The crash happened near to the entrance to the cemetery and as of around 4.30pm, officers had blocked the road on that side, with traffic being diverted down Burnside Avenue. An eyewitness said the diversion was causing heavy traffic in the area.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Constabulary said: "A motorbike and car have been in collision on Ribbleton Avenue. We were called around 4.30pm. Motorbike rider has suffered a minor injury and has gone to hospital but without need for an ambulance."
