A major energy supplier is offering half-price electricity to its customers this winter, potentially saving them up to £300. With household energy bills on the rise this winter due to the upcoming price cap increase in January, many are starting to realize that energy firms are providing free winter gadgets to customers. Scottish Power's initiative could help thousands of its customers by reducing their financial burden.
However, the deal only applies to those with a Scottish Power smart meter account, meaning those on a Standard Variable Tar (SVT) or with a fixed rate will not be eligible. Customers can calculate their energy bill by multiplying their usage in kWh by the unit rate cost in p/kWh and adding the annual standing charge to get their total annual costs, then dividing by 12 to find their monthly costs
