Rangers have been handed a major 'goodwill gesture' from Queen's Park over the use of Hampden, according to a report.
It's claimed the Championship side will step back from their deal to return to the national stadium from September 5 and only move back to the stadium"when Rangers don't need it anymore".claiming they will remain at the neighboring stadium to allow Rangers use of the national stadium while works continue on the Copland Stand at Ibrox.
It's thought discussions between Rangers and Queen's Park resulted in an agreement that a ground-sharing deal, if necessary, would be detrimental to the surface at Hampden and was turned down by Queen's Park.: “Queen’s Park made it clear to Rangers and to the SFA that they will do whatever is required to help out. If that means postponing their own return to Hampden then they are prepared to be flexible.
"That’s why the SFA and the SPFL have been so keen to help John Bennett find a solution and why Queen’s Park will only move back into Hampden when Rangers don’t need it anymore.”A Rangers statement on their confirmed use of Hampden, read: “Further to last week’s update, the club is continuing work at pace on detailed plans for the transition to the National Stadium.
