Sir James, who lives in the area and has a huge company base in the town described trying to donate the money as a "battle" and has asked the education secretary to intervene."I am ready to give money for a scheme that would make Malmesbury the rival of any private school."Sir James Dyson said in his letter that he wants the education secretary to interveneTo put the donation in perspective, he said the school's budget was around £2m a year.
Cabinet Member for Children's Services at Wiltshire Council, Laura Mayes, explained there are already enough places in the three local schools for expected demand.
