The Parma Heights fire department celebrated Mother’s Day with a loud quack.
The first responders were dispatched to a Rochelle Boulevard address after an animal lover discovered 13 ducklings fell into the sewer.“One of our residents called dispatch and asked if rescuing ducklings is something the fire department does?” Parma Heights Fire Chief Matt Bernard said. “Dispatch subsequently called Lt. Hanzel, the officer in charge, who responded, ‘Absolutely.’
The Big Creek Watershed Clean Up is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on June 1 at various locations. The 25th event takes place at Brookfield Park , the Brooklyn fire station and Snow Road picnic area .Bags and work gloves will be provided. Parents, guardians and grandparents are invited to the Parma fire department’s upcoming car seat installation.
