A man has suffered serious injuries after being stabbed in the chest. Two teenagers have been arrested after a 19-year-old was stabbed in Wavertree earlier this evening, Tuesday, January 14. Just before 6pm, Merseyside Police received a report that a teenager had been stabbed in the area of Bishopgate Street, Wavertree . The victim has been taken to hospital for treatment a serious injury to his chest. His injuries are not being treated as life threatening.

One resident, who lives on Bishopgate Street, told the ECHO how the cordon had originally been in place across the entire street. He said: 'It was all cordoned off before. I went to the shops and now half the road is back open. 'Something happened on Egerton Road a couple of streets away on Saturday. It’s happening all the time now. I wonder if it’s all related.
