Lucifer O'Malia appeared in the dock
A motorcyclist led police on 50-minute chase, driving into oncoming traffic on the M6. Lucifer O'Malia reached speeds of up to 110mph and travelled around 20 miles before he was eventually arrested in a park.
O'Malia, of Poplar Avenue, Ashton-in-Makerfield, has three previous convictions for 11 offences, including driving without a licence and insurance in 2020; and being disqualified - and handed a suspended prison sentence - in September 2022 for dangerous driving, reports the Liverpool Echo. O'Malia missed appointments under a mental health treatment requirement - part of his community order - twice in April 2024. Ben Berkson, defending, told the court: "He has ruined what was a rather merciful sentence in respect of the community order.
"This is still a young man who has potential. This is someone who is desperate to reconnect with a positive and loving relationship with his new partner, who is expecting a child in December this year. He fears he will not see his child being born. He is desperate to resume working as a groundworker, which he was doing before making the stupid decision to drive dangerously while disqualified and without insurance.
