A replica grenade, suspected drugs and cash were found in a property
Drugs, cash and a replica grenade were seized by police from a property in Wavertree today, July 24. Emergency services were called to Stevenson Street at 08.10am following reports of a 'possible grenade' inside a property. A cordon was put in place on the street, which has now been lifted. A bomb disposal team confirmed the item was a replica and it has now been removed. Officers from Liverpool Targeted Policing Team are currently carrying out a search of the property.
Inspector Ivan Martin from the Liverpool Targeted Policing Team said: “This proactive policing supports the work we do every day to tackle offending in our communities. Stop checks, search warrants, land searches and arrests take place all year round across Merseyside to prevent criminality from taking place in our neighbourhoods. “I would encourage members of the public to come forward with information on those involved in criminal activity so that we can continue to take action.
