Christopher Clayton and Philip Hoban will be sentenced next week

A man has appeared in court charged with having an an article of police uniform following the riots across the country last weekend.

He has been charged with an offence of violent disorder in Rotherham, and one in Merseyside. West Yorkshire Police says he has also been charged with seven offences of possession of an offensive weapon in a private place and possession of an article of police uniform.Mr Clayton appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Thursday and was remanded into custody.
