A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon after becoming violent with staff at the Suay Pan Asian Restaurant in Formby, Merseyside. Police were called to the scene around 7.35pm and the man was located and arrested shortly after. No injuries were reported during the incident.
A man was being held by police tonight after a violent outburst in a Formby restaurant. Police were called to Suay Pan Asian Restaurant, in School Lane, at around 7.35pm. A Merseyside Police spokesman said: 'We were called at 7.35pm to a report a male had become violent with staff. That male, aged in his 50s, has since been located and arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon.' The spokesman added nobody was injured during the incident.
Suay Pan Asian Restaurant, which serves cuisine from China, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand and beyond, was approached by The ECHO for comment. However, a spokesman said: 'As the police are currently dealing with the incident we are not in a position to comment at this time.'
