Police are investigating after a woman was found dead in Tacoma Wednesday morning.

officers were dispatched around 2:30 a.m. to the 400 block of North G Street regarding an "unresponsive female found lying on the ground." Tacoma Fire Department personnel pronounced the woman dead at the scene, police said.Around 6:30 a.m., police said, officers arrested a man in connection to the murder. He was booked into Pierce County jail on a second-degree murder charge, the TPD said.
“Based on what was learned, the victim and the suspect had a difference of opinion on a topic," TPD spokesperson and detective William Muse told KOMO News. "This led to a disagreement.”“We do not believe the relationship between the suspect and the victim was a domestic relationship,” Muse added. Muse said the preliminary cause of death is believed to be blunt-force trauma, but the medical examiner will make a further determination.Officials said the suspect was identified as a man in his 60s. The victim is in her 50s.
