David Roche, 54, is desperately trying to track down the young woman who paid for his Tesco shop.
David Roche, 54, was shopping for groceries on Sunday afternoon when the incredible act of kindness took place. The shop was about to close at 4pm as David had a basketful of shopping for his girlfriend Louise.
The shop was due to close and the checkout assistant told David it wasn't possible to keep the store open for him, and suggested he use his phone to pay instead. But David didn't have the right app on his phone. David, from Kensington, was astounded by the gesture at the Tesco Extra in Cables Retail Park, Prescot.
She had been purchasing a £3 birthday card for her dad. When David thanked her for her kindness, she simply said, "just pay it forward".
