A man has been charged for allegedly running over a police officer after he was pursued over stolen number plates.
Western Australia Police were pursuing a car with stolen licence plates at about 1am on Thursday when the officer was critically injured.

Picture: Nine News.Police on Friday revealed officers had now charged a 23-year-old Belmont man with act intended to prevent arrest, caused grievous bodily harm to any person, steal motor vehicle and reckless driving to escape pursuit by police.
The other two occupants of the vehicle, a 20-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, have both been released pending further investigation.
